A break after six hours of work, without having to watch for it
Every driver knows the driving and rest times. Working time is the part that often gets overlooked, while it has a limit just as much: after six hours of work there should be a break. VYS Mobile Tacho keeps track of that for you and steps in before the limit has passed.
The rule
The Working Hours Decree for transport prescribes that you take a break after six hours of work. If you work longer than six hours, that break is at least thirty minutes; if you work longer than nine hours, it is at least forty-five minutes. Driving simply counts as work, as do loading, unloading, waiting of which you know the length in advance, and the work you do besides driving.
What the app does
The counter in the app runs along with what you are doing. When the limit approaches you get a message, and if nothing happens the app switches the counter to rest by itself.
- A warning when there is a quarter of an hour of working time left
- After six hours of work the counter goes to rest by itself
- After half an hour of rest it is back on work
- The warning comes once per stretch, not over and over
Even when you have put the app away
The counter keeps running when the app is closed. If it was on work and you had the phone in your pocket for an hour, the app puts the switch afterwards at the moment the six hours were full, not at the moment you open it again. That way there is exactly six hours of work afterwards and not seven.
That is not only tidy for yourself. The blocks from this counter can go into the manual entry afterwards, and a block of eight hours of uninterrupted work is an infringement you do not want in your tachograph.
For VDO only
Manual entry and ejecting from a distance only work with a VDO tachograph with Bluetooth. On a Stoneridge that is not possible, and we would rather say so honestly.
